Requesting a Vibe Website Visual

Wednesday, 17 June 2015, Written by  Chris Hood

A Vibe Website "Visual" is a conceptual design. It's our chance to come up with the design we think is perfect for your website; ultimately it's our opportunity to impress you into taking a website with us.

What does a visual look like?

Obviously, all visuals are different. The visual we send over will be a design for your home page, the most important page of your site. This is the page that can make or break a sale, by deciding whether or not your visitors stay on your site.

We present visuals in the form of an image in a web browser, so you can see exactly what your site looks in the browser of your choice. Most design companies present their designs in an image file or PDF document, but these can lead to some surprises when viewing a site in full scale. Therefore we go further, building a web page out of it, to make sure you know exactly how it's going to look.

It's important to note that we build visuals that display best on monitors with a resolution of between 1100px - 1920px. That's most monitors, laptops, and many tablets in Landscape mode. If you are viewing your visual on a phone, tablet or smaller monitor or laptop screen, you'll want to zoom out to see the visual in all its glory. Remember that all of our live websites respond to display perfectly at a readable scale on all devices, but it's very time consuming to do, so we only do this on actual websites.

How long does it take?

Once your request is in, a visual takes from 2 to 4 days to produce. One of our professional designers will spend many hours putting together a design that would work very well for your business, which involves researching your market, carefully creating a website structure and producing a large amount of custom graphics. Once we've discussed it & perfected it, we send it over to you.

Some examples

Below are some visuals we've done previously. Clicking on them will open them up in a new window.

What input can I have into my site's design?

As much as you like. We've produced designs with zero guidance, and we've worked on designs that the customer has specified to the nearest pixel. Usually our customers give us a logo and a few links to some websites they like the feel of, but everybody is different. We'll always have suggestions for ways to use the design to make websites successful, but if you want control over the design, that's fine with us.

Can the design be altered?

Absolutely. We are here to provide your perfect website, so if you want us to make any changes, no matter how major, we welcome them. Changes are easy at this stage - not so easy once the site is built! Alternatively if you think the first visual is perfect, we'll be eager to crack on with a build.

What's next?

If you're happy with your visual, great, let's get going! If you have some small amendments to items like titles, images, menu tabs etc., we can make those as we build the site - the visual is just to confirm the design is right. If you would like some changes made to the layout or general design, we'll produce a second visual for you with those changes made. We'll continue to do this until your website is perfect.

The Website Build Process

Once we've set up your payment method, we'll start building. Professional sites take 2-3 days, CMS sites take 3-4 & Ecommerce sites take 4-5, sometimes more depending on how complex your site or online shop is. If there's anything about your website that will take longer than the above estimates, we'll let you know.
